Philippe le Hardi Saint-Aubin 2022 75Cl

The Saint-Aubin "En Vesveau" 2022 from Domaine du Château Philippe le Hardi is a white Burgundy produced in the south of the Côte de Beaune, in the immediate vicinity of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. Made exclusively from chardonnay, it offers a fresh, generous and refined expression of the Saint-Aubin terroir.

The vines are planted on a steeply sloping hillside, facing south and south-east, at more than 300 metres altitude. The particularly stony limestone soils give the wine freshness, tension and finesse. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in barrel, the wine is aged for 16 months in barrels, 20% of them new oak.

Tasting

Colour

A luminous golden-yellow colour with elegant, brilliant highlights.

Nose

The bouquet is fresh and expressive, revealing aromas of nectarine, grapefruit and ripe citrus. Delicate toasty and mineral nuances bring further depth and complexity.

Palate

The attack is round, supple and delicious. Flavours of ripe lemon, lime zest and fresh fruit are supported by a pleasant liveliness. Barrel ageing brings volume and a harmonious texture, without masking the natural freshness of the chardonnay. The finish is long, pure and balanced.

The Saint-Aubin "En Vesveau" 2022 is a white Burgundy that is at once rich, fresh and elegant. It will pair perfectly with a scallop carpaccio, a fish terrine, seafood or vegetables.
